In the last lesson we learned how to draw a face. Today we will make that face come to life by learning how to draw facial expressions.

In a happy face everything is pulled upwards: the eyebrows, the corners of the mouth and the cheeks. Small arcs are formed under the eyes 🙂

In an angry face everything is pulled towards the center of the face. The eyebrows almost touch above the nose, the eyes are narrowed, and the teeth are clenched >:(

In a sad face everything is pulled downwards. The corners of the mouth and the outer corners of the eyes droops toward the jaw. The bottom lids of the eyes are pushed upwards like the character is holding back tears <:'(

In a frightened or surprised face everything is forced outwards from the center of the face. The eyes, nostrils and mouth are opened wide and the eye brows almost touch the hairline. Drawing the irises of the eye like small dots will make the character look even more terrified <:O
